My honours project: Longing For Comfort explored the use of fashion as a trans technology and a tool of resistance. It investigated the role of safe spaces and wardrobe in creating positive affects such as euphorias.
My engagement with my creative practice drew from Munoz's theories of speculation and the presentation of alternative realities as hopeful, utopian propositions.
As alt-right political agendas work to demonise and erase the identities and lives of queer people, this project was intended to create a space that is soft, welcoming and endearing to queer community, our allies, and those who fear us.
